Microsoft Office Integration

iList Studio and MySQL are the perfect database companions for Microsoft Office X and 2004. Store your data in a MySQL database. Manipulate your data using iList Studio. Then send it at a moment's notice to a word processing document or spreadsheet for publication or further processing.

In addition to sending record lists to Office, iList Studio also works seamlessly with Microsoft Word's Data Merge Manager to create form letters, mailing labels, and other merge documents.

Plus you can import and export records to text files, copy simple reports to the clipboard, and save record lists to PDF files.

iList Studio and MySQL are a cost effective alternative to expensive database server products costing hundreds or even thousands of dollars.

And since MySQL is already installed and licensed for use by thousands of Internet providers and organizations, your up front cost in building multi-user databases may simply be the price of iList Studio alone.

Leverage MySQL's industrial strength privilege system alongside iList Studio's interface level permissions to control user access to tables, fields, and windows.

Customizable Interface

iList Studio's interface can be customized on a per user basis.

Design custom record editors for users and constrain the record sets they can view. Provide groups of users (e.g. a class of students) with a prepared list of search bookmarks to browse.

All user preferences, including a user's last find query, are saved between sessions and automatically recalled on next log in.

Web-hosted Image Catalogs

In addition to its extensive file path support, iList Studio can also function as a Web browser for viewing images on the Web.

Build a Web powered image catalog - complete with JPEG thumbnails, on-the-fly calculations, and fully indexed data - and link each record to a full sized image that is hosted at a Web site.

Whenever a record is selected, iList Studio streams its image directly into the Image palette.

Database Templates

iList Studio ships with ten database templates and still more are under development. Each includes a description and screenshot.

In addition to customizing the existing templates, create your own templates for personal use or sharing with others.

MySQL Enhancements

iList Studio supports six new "meta" field types and enhances MySQL in other significant ways.

A single keyword list can be assigned to any number of alphanumeric fields (including number fields). In addition to storing non-changing values, keyword lists can look up values on-the-fly. Present users with up-to-date value lists that are derived from the database itself. Add an "Other..." item to allow users to assign a new value.

Other enhancements include text field masks that can auto format inputted values such as phone numbers, zip codes, and other fixed length data.
